Battery Status is an excellent tool for notebooks that allows you to add more information to the power meter located on the taskbar, which only shows the current power source and the battery power remaining. With this program you can obtain information about the battery charge, power status, CPU speed, CPU load, CPU temperature, and hard disk temperature.
All this information is automatically displayed when you point the mouse on the battery status icon. If you right-click on the icon you can change the power scheme, turn off the screen, standby or hibernate the computer, and show up a toolbar with the battery status information on your desktop.
By opening the main window you can observe a graph of the battery and CPU behavior but also you can change other parameters: one of them is the screen power control which allows you to set a hotkey to turn on/off the screen, and dim the screen after a period of time. Another parameter is the hard disk power control; you can also change the sample rate, the method, change the temperature measurement units to Celsius or Fahrenheit, and execute a command on resume or power status change.
The program requires very low CPU and memory resources.
